What do you want to do as a designer? In this module you’ll get a focused understanding of the type of work you are pursuing and the city or region you want to work in.You’ll also get a solid grasp of the process for identifying firms you want to work for and the senior creatives inside them.
Edit and shape your portfolio
Not getting strong, positive reactions to your portfolio? Then it’s time to examine your work and your presentation of the work. In this module, you’ll develop an invigorated, focused portfolio that targets a specific design discipline and demonstrates comprehensive problem-solving. You’ll learn how to explain each project clearly and concisely and tell a strong, coherent story. Because of the amount of work, we’ll take an extra week with this module to give you more time.
Refine your resume and personal brand and build a network
You need a professional presence to land the job you’ve been dreaming about. In this module, you’ll write and design a simple, focused resume, develop a consistent personal brand and begin building a network of professional creatives.
Learn a formula for cover letter writing and following-up
In this module, you’ll learn a proven, repeatable formula for writing the perfect cover letter and a strategy for following up on it. You’ll also learn how to ask directly for the opportunity to meet, present your work and discuss any job opportunities that may arise at the firm. What you learn in this module will help you improve all your personal business letters during the job search.
Win the interview
To win the interview, you need preparation techniques that will give you confidence. In this module, you’ll learn how to research, prepare and deliver a concise, solid portfolio presentation and properly follow up after the interview. You’ll also learn what to do when an offer comes in and tips on salary and benefit negotiation.
